Troubleshooting when meeting recording does not start automatically

Checklist when Tinrec does not automatically record a Zoom meeting

Overview

If you have enabled automatic recording but a Zoom meeting does not start recording on its own, follow this article to troubleshoot step by step. Tinrec captures meeting system audio through the Mac desktop app, so confirm the desktop app and permissions are in good shape.

Steps

  1. Confirm the Tinrec Mac desktop app is installed and signed in, and that you are on the latest version (macOS 12 or later).
  2. In Meeting recording settings, confirm the automatic recording switch is on and that Zoom is included in the automatic recording scope.
  3. Confirm Tinrec has system audio / screen recording permission (macOS System Settings → Privacy & Security).
  4. Confirm the Zoom meeting is in progress and volume is outputting normally.
  5. If recording still does not start automatically, click Start recording manually in the desktop app to finish this session.
  6. If the issue continues, contact support at official@tinrec.com and include the meeting time and meeting app version.
