Learn the status messages shown while recording meetings in Tinrec desktop (Mac) so online meeting capture goes smoothly.
Overview
When you record Zoom, Meet, Teams, Webex, and similar online meetings with Tinrec desktop (Mac is generally available), the app shows status messages during capture so you can confirm recording health and avoid common issues.
Common status messages
- Before recording starts: remind you to grant microphone or system audio permission so meeting app sound is captured.
- While recording: show recording time and live transcript progress so you know capture is working.
- Permission or device issues: if system audio isn’t authorized, you may see a prompt that meeting audio can’t be captured—enable permission in system settings.
Steps
- In the Mac desktop app, choose the meeting app’s system audio as the source.
- Start recording and watch on-screen messages and the live transcript.
- If you see permission or device prompts, authorize in system settings as directed, then record again.
- After recording ends, the transcript and meeting summary are generated automatically.
Tips
- Windows desktop is still in development; recording messages currently follow the Mac app.
- If no transcript appears during recording, confirm system audio permission is enabled.
