Advanced Ask AI modes (Auto / Q&A / Plan)

Learn Ask AI advanced modes—Auto, Q&A, and Plan—and switch how you chat by task.

Overview

Ask AI offers multiple conversation modes so you can pick the interaction that fits the task. Based on Tinrec’s task-mode design, common modes include Auto, Q&A, and Plan for different situations.

Mode details

  • Auto: Ask AI proactively organizes results from the recording—good for quick meeting summaries, action lists, and similar outputs.
  • Q&A: Back-and-forth questions and answers—good for digging into details.
  • Plan: Ask AI to break down tasks and draft next steps—for example turning meeting decisions into actionable plans.

Steps

  1. Open the Ask AI panel on the recording detail page.
  2. Switch to Auto, Q&A, or Plan.
  3. Enter your request for the selected mode, or wait for Ask AI to produce output in Auto.
  4. After you get results, Add to cards to save them, or use AI generate file to export.

Tips

  • Mode names, entry points, and availability may change by version—follow the in-app UI.
  • For complex tasks, combine with Deep thinking for better answers.
  • Answers are AI-generated—verify important content against the transcript.
