Import an audio or video file

Upload a local audio or video file to quickly transcribe it and generate an AI summary.

Overview

Tinrec supports uploading local audio or video files to quickly transcribe them into a transcript and automatically generate an AI summary and to-dos. Existing meeting recordings, interviews, or class recordings can all become searchable, editable text in one step.

Steps

  1. On the home screen / Workspace, tap Import to open the Transcribe audio and video window.
  2. Drag and drop the file into the window, or tap to choose a local file.
  3. Confirm the file, then tap Start transcription.
  4. Wait for processing. The upload progress window shows: Uploading → Creating task → Done.
  5. When done, a transcript, AI summary, and to-dos are generated automatically. View and edit them on the detail page.

Tips / FAQ

  • Supported formats: Known formats include MP3, WAV, M4A, MP4, and more. The App’s Transcribe audio and video window shows the full list (follow what the App actually displays).
  • Free plan allowance: Free: 30 minutes of transcript per import, 5 imports per month. Pro: 5 hours per import, unlimited imports.
  • Over the limit: If the file exceeds the per-import limit, upgrade your plan or split long recordings before importing.
