Using TinrecImport & export
Create captions for your video
Turn a video into a transcript and export SRT captions, or use live captions while recording.
Overview
Tinrec can help you create captions for video: first convert the video to a transcript, then export an SRT captions file. You can also turn on Live Subtitle during live recording to show text in real time.
Steps
- Generate a transcript:
- For a local video: on the home screen / Workspace, tap Import → drag and drop the video file (such as MP4) → tap Start transcription.
- For a web video: tap Web video → paste the link → tap Extract video transcript.
- After transcription finishes, open the conversation and tap More menu (⋯) → Export.
- Choose content type Transcript and format SRT captions.
- Tap Download to get the SRT file, then import it into your video editing software.
- Live captions: While recording, you can turn on Live Subtitle in settings so text appears during recording (supported on iOS, Android, Mac, and Web).
Tips / FAQ
- Caption language: Tinrec supports Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, German, Cantonese, Taiwanese, and more. The system defaults to Auto-detect; you can switch manually when needed to improve accuracy.
- Web video parsing fails: Third-party site changes can occasionally break parsing. Download the video and upload it via Import instead.
- Free plan export scope: SRT caption export availability may vary by plan; as stated on the live product page.
