Convert a direct message to a channel

Upgrade a one-to-one conversation to a team channel (collaboration feature in development).

Overview

In Tinrec’s planned team collaboration workflow, Convert a direct message to a channel lets you upgrade a one-to-one conversation into a multi-member team channel so more people can view and collaborate on the same transcription. This feature is part of the planned Enterprise team plan and does not yet have a confirmed launch date.

Steps (planned usage)

  1. Open the target one-to-one conversation (direct message).
  2. Tap Convert to channel or a similar option.
  3. Set the channel name and invite other members.
  4. After conversion, the original conversation content moves into the new channel, where members can view and collaborate together. (Details as stated on the official website)

Tips / FAQ

  • Collaboration still in development: Channels, direct messages, and member management are all planned features with no confirmed launch date yet.
  • Workaround for now: Until team features launch, use One-tap share to create a secure link so multiple colleagues can view the conversation online; or export the summary and send it to the team’s notes and cloud tools.
  • Personal features are unaffected: Live transcription, AI meeting summaries, export, and share are already available for personal use.
