Generate custom content with Ask
Use Ask (AI Q&A) to produce meeting content in the format you need—such as notes, to-do lists, or key-point summaries.
Overview
Tinrec automatically generates an AI meeting summary, but if the default format does not fit your use case, use Ask (AI Q&A). Describe the content and format you want in natural language, and AI will produce a result from the transcript that better matches your needs.
For example, you can ask:
- “Please organize this into a client-ready meeting summary with decisions and to-dos”
- “List all to-dos from this meeting as a table with owners and due dates”
- “Summarize this interview in five key points”
- “Generate a project review report in Word format”
Ask follows your instructions, extracts information from the recording and transcript, and produces content in the format you specify.
Steps
- In Workspace, open a recording that has finished transcription and go to the detail page.
- Tap the Ask tab in the sidebar to open the AI Q&A panel.
- In the input box, describe the content format you want—be as specific as possible. For example: “Based on this meeting, generate a bulleted summary with four parts: background, discussion highlights, decisions, and to-dos.”
- After you get an answer, tap Add to card to save important content for later.
- If you need a file, you can ask Ask to produce Word, Excel, PDF, or HTML and download it.
Tips / FAQ
- How do I get results closer to what I need? Clearly state the format (bullets, table, paragraphs), purpose (internal notes, external report), and focus (decisions, to-dos, risks, and so on).
- Difference from auto meeting summary: Auto meeting summaries use a fixed card structure; Ask lets you freely define the output format and angle.
- Complex questions: Turn on Deep thinking mode, or ask in several steps and refine the result.
- Verify results: Ask answers are AI-generated from the transcript—cross-check important information with the original transcript.
- Share page limitation: Shared link pages do not support Ask; use it on your own recording detail page.
