Record and transcribe Zoom meetings in Tinrec (automatic sync details per official site)

Overview

Zoom is one of the common online meeting apps Tinrec can record. The Tinrec Mac desktop app can capture Zoom meeting system audio with live transcription, then automatically produce a transcript, meeting notes, and to-dos when the meeting ends.

Steps

  1. Install the Tinrec desktop app on Mac (macOS 12 or later) and open your Zoom meeting.
  2. In the Tinrec desktop app, click Start recording and choose to capture system audio to pick up Zoom meeting audio with live transcription.
  3. When the meeting ends, stop recording. Tinrec automatically generates meeting notes (including decisions and action items) and speaker summaries.
  4. To export or share, choose Export or Share from the action menu.

Connecting a Zoom account to sync meetings from the calendar and start recording automatically is not clearly offered by Tinrec today (details per the official site). The most reliable approach is to start recording manually in the Mac desktop app while the meeting is in progress.

Q: Can the web app record Zoom?

A: The web app can record but has a per-session limit. To capture Zoom system audio, use the Mac desktop app.
